Art
Welcome to JFK Art!
Hello, my name is Mrs. Jodice and I have been an art teacher at JFK for over nine years. I am a firm believer that every child is an artist. Some of them might not know it, or believe it, just yet!
I like to instill confidence in my students by creating a safe environment where they can discover and grow their artistic abilities. My hope is for all students to enjoy and have fun as they explore the artistic process while using various materials. I remind students that we are all different and will, therefore, create art in different ways unique to all of us.

Art Program Overview
Students in Grades K-5 attend a weekly 45 minute art class. The class fosters interest as well as skill in many different forms of art. Various projects are introduced throughout the school year. Students have the opportunity to draw, paint, sculpt, and use various materials and methods to create a work of art depending on their grade level.
Students in Kindergarten explore with several different mediums and practice certain skills that are built upon throughout their time at JFK. It is such a pleasure to see the proud looks on students' faces when their amazing creations are completed!
Throughout the year, I will send some artwork home with students and will save other pieces for our annual Art Show. Every year in June we hold the show, which is a celebration of art that was created by all of our students during the school year. Each student has 2 pieces displayed; a two-dimensional piece and a three-dimensional piece. More information about our Art Show will be shared as the month of June gets closer.
Inspired by her students, past, present, and future, Mrs. Jodice has published her first children’s book. The book is about all the things that could happen during the day of a paintbrush in an elementary school art class. She used her classroom as reference for many of the images in the book!
Mrs. Jodice has donated a few copies of the book to the JFK school library for students to borrow. If you would like more information, please feel free to email her at the address above.
