Library Program Overview
Students in Grades 1-5 attend a weekly 45 minute library class. Kindergarten has library and computer class twice a week for about 20 minutes each session. Each week, students listen to a grade appropriate read aloud, complete a follow-up assignment or activity, and browse books for borrowing. Students in Grades 1-5 are invited to borrow one book per week. Because book borrowing is new to Grade 1 students, library books are kept in their classroom. Students in Grades 2-5 are allowed to take books home.
